Photo Gallery Celebration of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 09.01.2022

The Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas 2022 was celebrated in Jakarta, Indonesia.  A programme was organized by the Embassy of India, Jakarta on 9th January 2022 in the Embassy auditorium. Being a Saturday, it was expected that a number of members of Diaspora would visit the premises.  However, to follow the strict COVID protocols imposed by the host Government, the invites were required to be limited to 150. A link was opened to all Pravasi Bhartiyas and their families. Event was a huge success and was attended by a full house maintaining strict covid protocol implemented by the local Govt.

  1. Embassy of India in Jakarta hosted the event to “meet and greet” the Indian Diaspora. Since the event was open to general public including families, a lot of NRIs attended the function with family.  People, not only from Jakarta, but also from faraway places like Surabaya and Bandung attended the function. 
  1. Ambassador addressed the guests, wishing them well and made a speech about the Indian heritage and India as a global economic power in today's world.  He also briefly spoke about the age old Indonesian and Indian trade and socio economic links and relations. He made a power point presentation on India’s Tourism, Trade and Commerce.    Ambassador also answered questions from Indian Diaspora. 
  1. The address was followed by mesmerizing dance and tabla performances by NRI children.  Folk dances from Jharkhand, Gujarat, Karnataka and Punjab were showcased and the audience was thrilled with the performances. The event concluded with Hi tea served for members of the Indian diaspora.
