To celebrate the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with Seher is organizing the first ASEAN-India Artists’ Camp from the 20 - 29 September 2017 in The Ananta, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Ten artists from India and ten artists from ASEAN countries will work together to create an amalgamation of splendid artwork reflecting the deep-rooted cultural connection. A collection of 20 paintings, created extempore at the camp, will be displayed in a special exhibition, which will be inaugurated at the ASEAN-India Summit by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in January 2018 in New Delhi, India.

The ASEAN-India Camp will include some of the finest painters from the ASEAN countries – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, VietNam; and India. This will be the first time that visual artists from ASEAN and India will come together and work in this unique cultural endeavor. The theme of the artists camp is “OCEAN OF OPPORTUNITY” reflecting the maritime cooperation and exchange between ASEAN and India.

The vision of this unique project is in line with the commemorative year’s theme of “Shared Values, Common Destiny,” which aptly reflects the close cultural and civilizational links that India and South East Asia have enjoyed over two millennia.
