India Culture Week @ Yogyakarta


Visit India Tourism Seminar at Hotel Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta

Embassy of India, Jakarta along with representative from Marketing & Tourism Office of Provincial Government of Yogyakarta Special Region hosted the India-Indonesia Tourism Seminar at Hotel Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta on 18 December 2018. India Tourism Office Singapore showcased the various aspects of tourism in India and discussed the scope of enhancing cooperation in tourism sector between India and Indonesia which has great potential.


The Seminar was attended by representative of leading tour and travel companies and airlines from Indonesia and India, including India Tourism Office in Singapore, Air India, Jet Airways, Garuda airlines, Thai Airways, Top Travel & Tours, India and Creative Travel India. Representatives from India Tourism and other travel agents made presentations on tourism opportunities in India. Representatives from Apollo Hospital and the Narayana Health made presentation on medical tourism opportunities in India. Air India and Jet Airways representatives also shared their connectivity options for travel to India. The Visit India Tourism Seminar was attended by more than 50 participants including travel agents and local media representatives.


The India Indonesia Tourism Forum was organized by Embassy of India as part of the India Culture Week in Yogyakarta from 17-23 December 2018. The India Culture Week (ICW) showcased different facets of Indian tourism, arts, culture, music, dance, food, Yoga and Bollywood films spread over an entire week. It is expected that the week-long events planned under the India Culture Week would facilitate a better understanding and appreciation of India in the hearts and minds of Yogyakarta residents. The Embassy of India is deeply appreciative of the support and facilitation provided by leadership of Provincial Government of Yogyakarta Special Region and UIN Sunan Kalijaga in organizing the India Culture Week Celebrations.
