ITEC & ICCR Alumni Day – 15 September, 2021

The Embassy of India in Jakarta celebrated Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Alumni Day on 15 September 2021 in hybrid mode in the Embassy auditorium. A large number of alumni participated in the celebrations.

In his inaugural address at the celebration, Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Manoj Kumar Bharti gave an overview of the ITEC programme and ICCR Scholarship Schemes, followed by sharing of experiences by the alumni, a panel discussion and cultural performances. Ambassador said, under the ITEC Programme, nationals of friendly countries are imparted fully funded capacity building training in various fields. Under ICCR scholarships, scholars are provided scholarships to pursue Under Graduate, Post Graduate and doctoral studies in premier Institutes in India.  ITEC Training empowers the scholars with not just professional skills, but also helps in preparing them for an increasingly globalized world.

434 Indonesian professionals have undergone ITEC training on a wide and diverse range of skills and disciplines, including in ICT, Expenditure Management, Entrepreneurship, WTO, Banking & Finance, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Legislative Drafting, Yoga, English proficiency, etc. In addition, since 1994, more than 410 Indonesians have availed of ICCR scholarships for Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral studies and 23 Indonesians have been selected for the Doctoral Fellowship in India for ASEAN Fellowship and are studying in various IITs in India.

The ITEC Alumni Day is celebrated every year in the Embassy of India, Jakarta. It provides a platform for Indonesian ITEC alumni to come together and share their experiences gained while studying in India.
