India Culture Week @ Yogyakarta

 

India-Indonesia Higher Education Forum at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta on 17 December 2018

 

An India-Indonesia Higher Education Forum was held at Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga as part of ‘India Cultural Week’ on 17 December 2018. Acharya University, Bengaluru and UIN Sunan Kalijaga signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote student and faculty exchange programs. Indonesian students have been invited to study in India. Nearly 200 students from UIN attended the Higher Education Forum, where Embassy officials briefed them on the scholarship opportunities available to Indonesian students for higher education in India. It also witnessed an interactive Q &A session, where several questions on educational system in India were answered by the panellists.

 

The India Indonesia Higher Education Forum was organized by Embassy of India in Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga as part of the India Culture Week in Yogyakarta from 17-23 December 2018. The India Culture Week (ICW) showcased different facets of Indian tourism, arts, culture, music, dance, food, Yoga and Bollywood films spread over an entire week. It is expected that the week-long events planned under the India Culture Week would facilitate a better understanding and appreciation of India in the hearts and minds of Yogyakarta residents. The Embassy of India is deeply appreciative of the support and facilitation provided by leadership of Provincial Government of Yogyakarta Special Region and UIN Sunan Kalijaga in organizing the India Culture Week Celebrations.
