The 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention will be held In Indore, Madhya Pradesh on 8-10 January 2023, with the theme:

Diaspora: Reliable partners for India’s progress in Amrit Kaal”

“प्रवासी: अमृत काल में भारत की प्रगति के लिए विश्वसनीय भागीदार ” 

Interested diaspora members may visit the website of 17th PBD at https://pbdindia.gov.in/ to avail early bird discount and group registration discount.

REGISTRATION:

  • All PBD participants are required to register on the PBD website and to pay the registration fees. 
  • The registration fee will include meals (lunch and dinner at the Convention venue) during the event period.

  • Early Bird Discount: A discount of 20% is offered on registration (including payment) completed before 15 November 2022.
  • Group Registration Discount: The PBD delegates can also avail discount on Group registration, which can be done by members of an Indian Association, Community organization or Professional organization.
  • The discount offered for Group Registration is as follows:

Programme for PBD 2023

Day 1: Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

The Day 1 of the PBD Convention includes Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which is organised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in partnership with Ministry of External Affairs, to engage with the Youth Diaspora. The Partner State, Madhya Pradesh will also showcase the unique opportunities offered by the State, with focus on economy, culture, tourism, technology, etc.

Day 2: Inauguration of 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention 2023

The Day 2 of the PBD Convention will include inauguration of 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention by Prime Minister of India, in the presence of Chief Guest. Prime Minister will also inaugurate a Digital Exhibition “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)- Contribution of Diaspora in Indian Freedom Struggle” and release a Commemorative Postal Stamp- “Surakshit Jaayen (Go safe), Prashikshit Jaayen (Be Trained)”. Two plenary sessions are also scheduled on the inaugural day. 

Day 3: Valedictory day of 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention

The Day 3 of the PBD Convention will include Conferment of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards and Valedictory Address by the President of India. 

Plenary Sessions 

The 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention will include five Plenary Sessions on the following themes:

  • Plenary Session I: Role of Diaspora Youth in Innovation and New Technologies
  • Plenary Session II: Harnessing the Potential of Women Diaspora Entrepreneurs towards an Inclusive Approach to Nation Building
  • Plenary Session III: Leveraging the Soft Power of India- Goodwill through Craft, Cuisine & Creativity
  • Plenary Session IV: Exploring Links between Skills and Migration Trends of Indian Workers Abroad
  • Plenary Session V: Role of Indian Diaspora in promoting India’s Healthcare Ecosystem in the Amrit Kaal: Vision @2047

Digital Exhibition

   The 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will include a Digital Exhibition with the theme "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav(AKAM)- Contribution of Diaspora in Indian Freedom Struggle /आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव (अकाम )-भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में प्रवासी का योगदान". The Digital Exhibition will pay tribute to the unsung heroes from the Diaspora who contributed to the the freedom struggle of India. 

Glimpses of M.P. exhibition

The Government of Madhya Pradhesh will also organise a physical exhibition titled “Glimpses of Madhya Pradesh” to showcase the culture, tourism, economy, and other aspects of the State.
