Celebration of 72nd Republic Day of India
The Embassy of India, Jakarta celebrated the 72nd Republic Day today morning with enthusiasm, zeal and patriotic fervor.
The celebrations, held at the India House today morning, commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Ambassador of India to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Manoj K. Bharti followed by singing of the National Anthem. Thereafter, the Ambassador read out the Hon’ble President’s address to the nation. A brief cultural programme was organized which included rendition of patriotic songs by talents from the Indian diaspora and the Embassy families.
In a separate video message, Ambassador greeted the Indian citizens and People of Indian origin living in Indonesia and acknowledged their contribution to the growth of India. In his speech, Ambassador also mentioned about Shri I Wayan Dibia from Indonesia Institute of the Arts, Bali who was awarded Padma Shree 2021 in the field of Art and Culture.
On this occasion, the Jakarta Post carried out a special supplement titled ‘Celebration of India’s 72nd Republic Day’ focusing the long-standing friendship between India and Indonesia and scope of cooperation in the field of Commerce, Education, Defence, and Maritime connectivity.
The ceremony was attended by the Officials of the Embassy and the ASEAN Officials and their family members while observing the social distancing norms.
